EVEN BETTER IN HAND! This is an outstanding archivally sealed quarter plate of a very enigmatic young chap! He was taken circa 1848 I believe. The leather case is apart. The condition is stellar. And the applied colors were professionally rendered. Very nice patina surrounds the lad. Although the style of the likeness was a popular “loosely composed bust” the placement of that hand, the explosiveness of the kid’s snow white and slightly blue solarized shirt and his finely tinted tucked in tie make him seem closer to us than normal. The appearance of serious consternation on his face and twin focused brown laser eyes are arresting for sure. Rich patina surrounds the subject!
