Sixth Plate

D20-002    Terms of Sale

I THINK . . . That the man clamped his lips together and sucked in his breath when the lens was uncapped to produce his retaped sixth plate dag. Or else he had a very strangely dimpled chin! He entertained using a skillful daguerreian. The hand in the vest pose gave his patron an air of self-assurance. Coupled with a slight turn of his head and shoulders, plus excellent lighting every facet worked harmoniously to create a very strong likeness. The reflected depth was outstanding too! Finally, the additional use of tinting was nicely done. There are small mat marks in the oxidation lower left. The leather case has a torn hinge.
