DURING THE CONFLICT. Abraham Bogardus, didn't open his gallery at 363 Broadway until 1862. The information was impressed in the plain purple cushion opposite his subject who wore a boldly striped dress the day she was taken. That appeared to be a Patriotic eagle adorning her brooch. Too bad the lady wasn’t draped in Old Glory when she visited his studio. Original oxidation surrounds the lady on her resealed sixth plate.
