Quarter Plate

INSPIRATIONAL! Shall I actually write more about the child’s monumental archivally restored quarter plate portrait? She is kept in a complete thermoplastic case with a geometric theme on both covers. There is one silver spot on the gal’s arm and directly above that a faint brown dot. The tiny subject’s composure was unaffected by her surroundings and at least two adults coaxing her to “be still darling” “look over here little miss” and probably many more “suggestions” during the procedure to produce this vignetted masterpiece. Marvelous natural patina flows in the shape of that brass mat. Brightness from above illuminated that angelic face with miraculous precision! The tones of the daguerreotype are subtle yet oh so powerful when the likeness is viewed in good light. The contrast is simply astounding folks. Few childhood remembrances will resonate any brighter!
