FOLK ART ON SILVER. An adorable child wearing an exquisite hand tinted dress was daguerreotyped while sitting next to a pot of painted posies. My poor reproduction of one of the most magical archivally prepared sixth plate dags I have owned in forever doesn’t begin to emphasize the brilliance of the likeness. Each angle of view changes the intensity of the superlative applied pigments and the definition in the lovely lass’s marvelous dress. That just might be the best painted bouquet of flowers EVER!!! She posed nervously circa 1846. Any specks and flecks or marks are totally innocuous. The complete leather case has a horizontal lyre theme on the cover and a plain back. Inside there is a brilliant unmarked red silk pad.
