D18-CONCA Terms of Sale
FROM THE COLLECTION OF . . . Joan Murray, one of my dearest friends and a true daguerreotype mentor, who was a pioneer in collecting the finest daguerreotypes available. Brilliant illumination bathed the canine subject to perfection. The pose of the dog was unequaled in the daguerreian era. Sharp focus and a very shallow depth of field isolated the animal on that fancy couch. The magnificent holographic depth created a surreal portrait. A few mold spiders are on the surface plus a faint blue dot on the subject’s face. Those diagonal lines of the resealed sixth plate are funky tarnish. The leather case is separated and one of the brass hooks is missing.
