Pair of Sixth Plates
D17-009 Terms of Sale
WHOSE FROWN . . . Won the prize for most off-putting between the pair, whose sixth plate portraits have archival seals? I will let you all be the judges. I can’t tell you; even after using a loupe what that dark area was underneath the gent’s wing of hair on the left side. While he calmly rested his arm on the book and curled his fingers over the table’s top, his other hand was in motion as the exposure was made. His wife was firm and resolute! The flow of her diaphanous day cap ribbons gave the impression of movement, yet she who would never smile seemed chiseled in stone. Both dags have fine contrast and rich tones. Any faint blemishes are meaningless. Their leather case is apart.
