A BLUE FEATHER? What else could that colorful splotch attached to the frightened child’s hair have been? Tinting was definitely applied to the surface so I’m sticking to my story and considering the object was an added embellishment. For as nervous as the kid’s expression indicated she or maybe he was, I was surprised that finger marks weren’t left in the wooden arms of that child’s chair! And the waif doesn’t appear ready to leap out of the seat either. I wonder if screams were heard while the lens was uncapped and the sixth plate was made? There are some horizontal black marks, especially by those outstanding socks created during the plate preparation. Mold spiders and harmless specks are also visible. Color was applied to the munchkin’s face. The leather case is separated.
