MOM CURLED HER HAIR. I think that the child might have been nearly overwhelmed by her visit to the daguerreotypist where she sat for her retaped sixth plate likeness. Her discolored hands (from making mud pies prior to have been taken) rested on the tops of the child’s chair’s arms. She did remain quite still while the lens was uncapped. The operator daubed gold on her tiny piece of jewelry attached to her seed necklace. The silver has nice depth and contrast. Those white spots and the scum in the upper right occurred after the surface was improperly rinsed years ago. The leather case has an old hinge repair. The cunning little lass looks wonderful in hand.
