HER GREEN GLOVES! A pretty young woman wore a bonnet and fine jacket over her dress when she posed for a three-quarter length archivally sealed sixth plate daguerreotype. Carol examined the portrait and suggested that the lady might have been pregnant when she posed in a colder climate for this likeness. She also remarked about those hand warmers. What an odd color. In fact, that outer garment is white, red or green depending the angles of view. Lots of natural patina also surrounded the sitter. Gold and red were added to her earrings. She visited her maker circa 1847 and this image is held in a worn, complete leather case.
