| SOUTHBOUND! Everyone who has visited us here in Exeter is familiar with the vibrations created by the freight trains that pass nearby our home. Sometimes standing inside the barn when a long heavily laden parade of cars rumbles along I watch the hundreds of framed pieces on our walls change their angles. Taken in the gloaming after the leaves left the trees barren Casey has captured the emptiness along the shimmering worn rails passed over by an ancient late 19th century iron bridge. The 4x5 daguerreotype is matted to 5 3/8 by 6 1/2 inches with a modern brass frame. The range of contrast for a low light exposure is impressive. The reflected depth of the parallel bands of steel is outstanding. The price without a frame is $700. Please add $50 for a mat black frame. |
