| D11-11. RATHER AWKWARD! Just looking at their hands held together causes me to cringe. I have even attempted to turn my wrist in the same manner that the gal on the right did while she and her friend posed for their newly sealed sixth size dag and it is painful. The daguerreian was in a rudimentary phase of his career, IF it ever lasted much longer after this effort. His buff strokes and plate polishing techniques left something more to be desired, at least by folks in a city where sophistication and perfection in daguerreotypy had been achieved years earlier. However, the gals are both fresh and the taller lass certainly was pleasant enough. Those homespun dresses were undoubtedly the best they owned. Their selected maker did add gold to their jewelry and tinted their cheeks. Notice that both young women wore wedding bands that they eagerly displayed. Speckled tarnish and light blue haze is visible when their leather case, missing a cover, is held and the teenagers are admired. Actually, I just looked again. The next collector will be pleased. $140 |
