D06-186. PIXIE POWER! Kids can be many things! I'm trying to search my memory banks for a more cunning archivally sealed ninth plate of a diminutive girl whose parents must have absolutely cherished her astoundingly perfect portrait. Only through the years has that oval golden circle grown at her waist. The daguerreian was a masterful technician who quite obviously was comfortable posing wee ones. The kid was alert and eager to have her likeness taken. She was extremely well behaved in front of the camera. Opening her tiny intact case is akin to witnessing the unveiling of an Old Master's painting on canvas, except that this silver palette has depth and clarity that no other medium can duplicate! A jewel from my own collection. $800
