D06-130. THE LARGE CHAIR. A cute boy wearing a pleated "pirate shirt" was seated with his hands in his lap while an unidentified operator made his retaped sixth plate. Written in ink on a slip of paper is "Chas. D Bell father of E.D. Bonney". I wonder if the daguerreian realized that chair was much too large for his young subject? We do have a better than usual visual of the furniture, for what that is worth. Heavy polishing marks are visible. There is also an assortment of spots and dots on the bright surface that has excellent depth. Charles was neatly groomed for the event. He sat calmly and probably did some finger fidgeting just before the lens was uncapped. His complete leather case is embossed with the delicate roses theme, circa 1847. $235
