D05-160. ACCENTUATED HEIGHT. She had an elongated appearance when she sat for her retaped sixth plate on that shimmering iron bench in an unknown maker's studio. (I have seen that furniture before, in dags identified as made by S.B. Barnaby, but I can't be certain that she sat for him in his Dayton, Ohio rooms). The strong vertical stripes in her dress and those bouncy black curls add to the illusion that she was a tall lass. Her coal toned eyes gazed around the camera without focusing on a certain place. I sense that when the lens was finally covered her mouth formed a warm smile. Oxidation follows the shape of the scalloped brass mat. All those white specks are less noticeable in the original, which has outstanding contrast and deep depth. The intact leather case has a common floral theme. $345
