I suspect the man towered above the inhabitants of his locale. There is power exhibited here, in his pose and inner spirit. His arrangement was done in a classic loosely composed bust portrait. Oxidation is seen on the bright reflective surface. Illumination from the left side created wonderful contrast and solid tonality. There are mat abrasions on the bottom and along the left side, which might be hidden with a professional restoration. The remainder of the spots and dots visible are completely harmless to his visage. A fine pushbutton leather case with a detached hinge holds the subject. $425
