D06-51. SEDUCTIVE LACE. And that's not all folks. Underneath her rather remarkable primitive sixth plate portrait that has been resealed, a secret admirer penned several lines of verse (I think). He wrote directly onto the paper in the bottom of the leather case that is missing a cover. Unfortunately, time has caused some of the words to become unreadable to my eyes. Anyway, here's what I could decipher with relative certainty. "Miss Maggie, Oh how much I want to see you, if you only did know. You would have ___, ___ in a ____ , In____ and they are looking for you." There are more lines that I will allow the next owner to read. I bought Maggie's portrait in Portland Oregon recently. The cover glass was despicably corroded. I never knew until I returned to Exeter and took her out of the case about the bonus inscription. The brown mark on her forehead did not soak off in distilled water. There are several teeny green specks above the gal's head in the folds of the cloth drop. Tarnish swirls around and upon Maggie as seen in the scan. What I can't reproduce is the inspired contrast, tonality and depth or the beauty of her sleeves. Also notice lots of gold on her jewelry and red blush on her cheeks. $110
