D06-201. SARAH P. KILBURN. Written in the bottom of her whole leather case and on a small scrap of paper is further information about Ms. Kilburn, who is so elegantly posed in her resealed sixth plate likeness. She was from West Newton, MA. She was the inscriber's "great aunt" and "dead" at the time the information was provided. I probably have seen that wonderful tablecloth used in other daguerreotypes, but my memory fails me at the moment. The unknown operator was certainly adept at his trade. He illuminated the striking woman with a skylight overhead. She certainly has a handsome face that is perfectly exposed. Sarah is surrounded by encroaching patina. There are flecks and specks on the surface that don't affect her. $300
