D06-156. LARGE FACE! There will be unanswered questions before I'm finished describing this intense man with a kind of comb over sideways thing going on with his hair while a maker produced his resealed sixth plate. For instance, I don't know why the overall tone is blue/brown, unless solarization was the culprit. One clue that points in that direction is the heavy dose of white paint that was used to touch up the gent's shirt and collar. Swathes of hazy patina crawl across the silver. Brighter red then you see colors the man's cheeks. His camera demeanor, while he was holding his breath, strikes me as deadly serious, although he probably was a meek accountant lost in the maelstrom of the office where he worked. Not really. He knew what he was about when he visited a daguerreian circa 1846. That's a mold spider above his shoulder and a black spot on the right side. The white specks are meaningless. The complete leather case has a horizontal theme showing an overflowing basket of flowers. A spotted red silk pad is across from the guy. $225
