D05-78. RURAL LOCATION. A rudimentary resealed sixth size portrait of an uneasy gent seated with his arm resting on a table top next to two books. (There might be more or even a daguerreian's devise behind them too). He was definitely sucking wind (or holding his breath in more polite circles) while some itinerant was coaxing him to look into the lens and remain unmoving. The dag maker blasted his patron with direct light from behind the camera. He manufactured a very boxy composition. Those enormous buttons on the gent's jacket and the front of the tablecloth are completely washed out. Look at the fellow's healthy complexion. This guy was outdoors most of his adult life. I wonder where he purchased that coat. It was fashionable many years before his mid-40s likeness was taken. There are mat marks inside the brass oval and some minor mold mites. He is contained in one of the most warped yet still intact leather cases I have ever owned. $145
