D05-42. A SNOWY MANE. An elderly gent was taken from a low angle in his bust portrait, giving him prominence and revealing a craggy face covered with hoarfrost hair and beard stubble. His beady black eyes, surrounded by encroaching folds of skin, still had spark when he examined the operator and his wooden box. To isolate the subject even more, the maker added a dark vignette across the bottom of the newly sealed sixth plate. Deep depth is impressive. The fellow's flesh tones are better than average. There is heavy oxidation around him and a few meaningless mold spiders. A common leather case holds him intact. $160
