D04-134. IN HER BEST. This lovely woman didn't leave any of her fine attire at home on this trip to have her sixth plate daguerreotype made. From her gold tinted earrings to her black lace, finger-less gloves and in between, she is looking her best. Even her sleeves are a fancy lace design of a higher quality than the average dress sleeves. Around her neck is a gold tinted chain, likely with a key or watch on the end. That fine cameo brooch is also golden. The application has diffused slightly from where it was originally placed, but it no more harms the image than accentuates her bounty of jewelry. There is a miniscule mold spider to the left of her bun hairstyle, and a two brown spots that blend into her dress and the mat's edge. There are mat abrasions in several places, as seen in the reproduction. A wonderful rich burgundy velvet case pad is imprinted with a single leaf and worked great with the portrait. The dag has been resealed and is in a whole leather case with lilies in the center of the design. Sometimes this case is imprinted with the letter A, B, C or D at the bottom center directly below the flowers. This example is not imprinted. $220
