D03-209. BLONDIE BEING HELD. Mother looked down at her daughter who sat rather patiently in mom's lap while a sixth plate dag was executed. The tiny tot's expression says it all, "I've had enough of this nonsense and hope that it is over with soon"! If some idiot hadn't attempted to clean the woman's face, which was beautifully composed peering down at her daughter, I would have made a scan of the naked plate before I archivally retaped the piece. The brass mat appears to have been original to the splendid portrait. There are a few mold mites, some mat abrasions and one bubble of tarnish erupting from the lower right corner on the superbly brown toned surface. There are a couple teeny blue specks on the baby's face. Pressed into the worn velvet pad on the loose cover of the leather case is the maker's identity. I have used every technique imaginable, to read the letters, without success. $460
