D03-107. IMPRESSIVE TONALITY! That should be immediately obvious in this woman's no-nonsense sixth plate that has been retaped. The narrow cone of light bathing her from above dropped off rapidly, nearly ghosting part of her worn hands, which begin to disappear in her dark dress. Her marvelous face and coal black eyes are alive and truly sculpted. It is an impressive effort, circa 1847. Wavy bands of patina live on the left side of the exquisitely polished surface. Less decorative tarnish follows the rest of the oval mat around her. There are a couple minor mold marks and one mat abrasion. The more I look upon her, (don't worry, I already raised the price) the more I like her personality. Although the spine is broken, the leather case embossed with a Delicate Roses theme still has its original gloss. An unmarked, crisp red silk pad sits opposite her. $215
