| EEW-157. STUDIO HAT? Would that child have worn such a large headgear into the daguerreotypist's gallery accompanied by a parent to have his sixth plate taken? It appears to have been placed next to the kid's hand on the table as a prop used to balance the composition. The lad remained relatively immobile, as the lens was uncovered. He did move his right arm slightly while staring directly at the camera. There is a dark mold spider on the lad's neck and some small mat abrasions on the newly taped piece. The leather case has a loose hinge repaired with tape. $145 |
