I can recite a monologue detailing the nuances about this splendid candid outdoor sixth plate that has new seals and was copied from another daguerreotype OR I will briefly state the facts. I have never seen a more relaxed cheerful group in a dag. I don't know the occasion for the completion of the original or the location it was taken. I can't even find faces that match any of the posers. The cameraman must have been familiar to the people or he was a marvelous storyteller. I have held the abraded object in my hands, waiting patiently for one of the members to speak out. I guess the next owner can try the same tactic. Only the bottom of a leather case remains with the group. $595 |
