D04-70. LOTS OF MOVEMENT. Both boys bobbed their heads, while the younger sibling twiddled his thumbs and fingers. The daguerreian had their attention as he performed his magic in the wooden box with the large brass lens protruding out front. He seated the elder lad on a small table or box covered with a patterned cloth. I wonder if the kid gripped his brother's chair arm instinctively? His hand is extremely sharp (it didn't move). The quarter-sized likeness has been resealed. The teeny white specks don't hamper the strong reflected depth or nice tonality. There are also a couple very deep buff marks. They are held in the bottom of a leather case that has a unique (to my eyes) intricate geometric design. $295
