D04-127. JIMINY WHISPERS. What is there to say about this fellow that can't already be seen in this pristine sixth plate daguerreotype? Old Jiminy was a man of few words, that's for sure, and he always talked in such a quiet tone. That's how he got his nickname, and it stuck forever. Some people would be foolish and take this trait for a weakness. Later they would learn not to judge a book by its cover. Jiminy would let them have it, until they apologized or begged for mercy, whichever came first. The wide-eyed sitter had great contrast, tonality and reflected depth. He is held in a whole leather case with flowers in a basket on front presented in a horizontal motif and a plain back. There are some faint spots visible in his jacket and on the right, but other than that the resealed dag is perfect. $160
