D04-118. WHATTA BUN! No everyone is not having the same case of dŽjˆ vu, that is indeed the same bug eyed, bun wearing lady from the dag D04-117. The question is whether the man in this dag is her husband or brother because they have a similar look, with the wide-open eyes and flat friendly smiles. This sixth plate daguerreotype was definitely taken on the same day as the other one. She has the exact same hair, even the part is identical. The dress, brooch and key string all matches up perfectly. The only odd thing compared to the other dag is the fact that there is no inscription on the back of this plate indicating if it was number 19, taken after, or number 17 taken before the other plate. The duo is surrounded by a wide band of spotted patina. Since the brass mat is heavily corroded, I would suspect that there had been puddles of moisture under the glass at one time. The whole leather case holding them has flowers and a similar fabric like texture. $165
