D03-76. SUPERB HAND PLACEMENT. The daguerreian architect who created the masterful resealed quarter plate portrait offered here, was truly a man with artistic panache. He arranged his rather apprehensive subject using fantastic composition! The gentleman's hands secure the bottom third of the highly reflective image. They also suggest to our eyes that we should look elsewhere. We take quick notice of the dark suit and white shirt. The next element are the man's mutton chop whiskers. His parted lips are unusual. He watched the procedure with trepidation, don't you think? I believe that he wasn't completely at ease. However, the results are rather remarkable! Tinting was added to his flesh tones. Patina forms a nice oval inside the fancy mat. The flecks scattered about are part of the natural aging process. Sold without a case. $275
