D03-222. FLOATING! Encroaching oxidation has created odd natural colors on the fascinating sixth plate presenting a gem of a little girl. She sits high up on a covered chair so that the focal point of the maker's lens would be right on her face. You will notice that everything else is slightly blurred. The maker obviously knew how to take a knockout portrait with his equipment though and the charming child pops. The background is not uniformly shadowed, giving the resealed image a great, mysterious quality. The tiny tyke looks eager to say something, although she didn't move and kept her perfect lips lightly sealed. Her raven colored coiled curls hang perfectly and caress her hand colored shoulders. The red coral and gold necklace is wonderfully tinted. She also wears what could be a hair bracelet on her arm that was also tinted gold at the clasp. Her portrait, which has some white specks and flecks, rests in a later paper case that has a new leather spine. I should add, that as the darling girl is examined at different angles, the shades of colors are kaleidoscopic! $300
