D03-184. STRONG MID-TONES. A plain pioneer woman most likely taken near her home in Ohio. I purchased her in a large group shop in Medina, Ohio, along with other family members, one who was identified as having resided in that area. I think I was most impressed by her vacant expression on her careworn face AND the crisp focus that permits an in depth examination of her countenance. Tarnish is present, along with spots and dots on her newly taped sixth plate. The separated leather case, with a floral pattern, mimics the subject and is quite worn. $115
