D02-13. AT FIRST GLANCE? Honestly, and all joking aside, when I first looked at this resealed sixth plate, I thought, wow, you are a man in a dress! Then, upon another inspection, I thought, "Well hell, you still are a man in a dress!" That's funny. This guy must have had some serious issues to work out; even going so far as to wear all sorts of jewelry, (ouch!). Nicely tinted are this lady/gent's, earrings, brooch, key chain, and the kicker, two rings on the right hand. Man oh man, or maybe it is a woman, but not the best looking one at that. I bet she's a hard worker though, and kept her weight in gold, at least enough gold on her to suggest that she did in fact earn a good wage, or had a wealthy, not so lucky spouse. The oxidation helps diminish a few mat marks hard against the brass. The skilled daguerreotypist must have had a difficult time making his/her portrait without cracking up! Only the bottom of the leather cased, imprinted with lilies, remains. $190
