T-461. PAIR OF QUAKERS. These images came from the same photo album and each was taken a Baltimore studio. Each woman has a lightly tinted face. The images are in good condition with a few marks, with the one frame having some cropping. $80
T-464. DAG COPY. This sixth plate tin is uncased and in good condition. The image lacks sharp contrast but, then, that's copying for you. $35
CW-601. SERIOUS YOUNG MAN. His hands are quite large. The tin has nice contrast and good condition. $12
T-462. SMILING GROUP. They all look pretty happy here. The quarter plate tin has some light marks and a bend or two. The paper frame is pretty ratty, but I decided to leave it to the next owner whether to ditch it. $35

DAD-119. EXTREME CLOSE UP. It's not often that you see a whole plate tintype done in this style. The men's faces show light tinting. The image is in near perfect condition and has exceptional contrast and depth. $125

OP-579. HIDDEN OWNER. There is a man standing to the right trying to keep the dog still and he succeeded. The image is a lovely portrait of his friend. The photo is mounted to 2.5 x 3. I can't make out the photographer though. Condition is good. $25

SNAP-330. ESTHER AND IRON DUKE. What a name for a cocker spaniel! Each of these cyanotypes is 3.5 inches square and each has a caption about Esther or the dog. Each is in nice condition but for the one where Esther's back is to us (taking a look at the rose garden). The two white marks you see are tears in the emulsion. $45
OP-577. SAILOR BOY. He and his folks must have been out for a stroll at Asbury Park. The image is 1.5 x 3.25 and in nice condition. $15
OP-574. HAROLD SMILES. What a great grin! This photo booth image has a few marks, but I love it anyway. $10
DAD-118. FLOWER GIRL. This is Miss Helen Adele Welsel (Willson) in 1891 when she was 8 years old. The image is about cabinet card size and the edges appear to have been trimmed. The photo is lightly tinted. $45
OP-572. FUNNY HATS. I love the teeny one the guy in the back has on. I like the pair of serious/smiles on the back of the page too. The album page here is 6 x 4.5. $30
OP-569. 3 YEARS OLD. And that's all we know about her. The photo is mounted on a board measuring 6.5 x 8.5. The photo has just a few marks and was probably once in a frame. $25
OP-575. NEW ORLEANS MAN. This lovely profile is a platinum print by Moore of New Orleans. The bottom of the mount is slightly cropped but otherwise the image is in good condition. It measures 5 x 7. $22
OP-578. GIRL AND HER DOG. This cutie is Katharine Russell Haw... in February 1896 when she was one year and 6 months old. The photo has some light marks and is cropped on both sides. The photographer was Partridge of Boston. $38
CW-600. PHOTO STAMPS! These are pretty nifty. The US soldier's initials were W.K. and the year was 1918. The stamps each measure 3/4 of an inch by 1 inch. The top one has a partial bend. $75

SNAP-331. ON A RANCH? I see some buildings and fences behind these folks. And, of course, the mountains. The image is dated 1898 on the back. It measures 3.75 x 4.75 and is in nice condition. $20
SNAP-329. FLAPPER FASHION. The colors on the tinted image (3.25 x 5.5) seem to have been done with a colored pencil, as there are indentations to the back and a small tear on her cuff. The other image (3.25 x 5.75) is in good condition. $22
OP-576. MARY ANDERSON. Hugh Glenn & Co. had a pretty nifty advertisement. I had 7 of them, each with a different celebrity. This one is a little stand. It might have stood up at one time, but there is no backer now. It is in good condition and measures 2.5 x 5 at its widest points. $45

Cartes de Visites

DAD-116. EXCELSIOR. What a grand still life image! Here we see a model paddlewheel steamship, fully tinted and adorned with the face of Napoleon Eugene. The Prince was 10 years old when Terry photographed the boat in 1865. Was it a gift, perhaps? You rarely see CDVs as well-tinted as this and of such a quirky subject. $495
CDV-576. FRONT AND BACK. This is an odd CDV to be sure. The man on the front had his face rather viciously removed and what looks like another man's portrait glued to the back. While the CDV is Civil War era the 2nd portrait appears to be a late 1850s or very early 1860s salt print. That image is in good condition, with some folds that were there before it was glued to the back. $55
CDV-578. THREE WOMEN. These images are all by HC Phillips of Philadelphia, with three taken one day and one on another. This one (the darker image of the single woman) is dated Feb'y 1889 and has a different backmark. That image also has a chip at the upper right. Each image has some light marks and soiling. $38
CW-599. TOM AND LAVINIA. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Thumb stand here in their older age. The CDV is by Betts of Bridgeport, CT (where Barnum lived) and has some very light marks. $85
BC-12. AT THE SPRING. I'm going to make a guess and say that the language on the back of this image is Czech because the city appears to be Slanem. The woman stands beside some kind of structure and a mirrored sphere. She has a glass mug attached to her waist. The image has some light marks. $28
CDV-579. RELIEF VIGNETTE. This image is by Cummings of Lancaster, PA. There is light scuffing on the raised, oval portion. $12
CDV-577. SCHOOLGIRLS. This image has no identification. Although, I bet the school was a religious one given the angel statue in the middle. The image has some light marks and trimmed corners. $50
Cabinet Cards
BC-14. SEASON'S GREETINGS. I think the notation on the back tells us that this is the Hawkesbury River, which is in Australia. The cabinet card is nicely tinted and has a few light marks. $50
CC-447. SEVEN FRIENDS. This image has some fading and a few dents in the upper left. $10
CC-600. MOTHER AND SON. I'm saying son because of the clothes, but that's just a guess. I love their hats and the tender pose. Brand worked in Chicago. The image has a few light marks. $25
CC-603. AT THE HOTEL. I don't know where this place was, but there certainly was a crowd. I haven't bothered to check if any of the people in either image were the same, but it's definitely the same place. The further away image, where "Seavetts (?)" is written on the wall has some fade spots and other marks. The other image also has light marks. No photographer is identified. $30
CW-602. NEWSPAPER? I suppose it could also be a legal document. The Philadelphia man looks important. The image has some light marks and an errant fingerprint visible near the paper. $15
CC-604. ORIENTALISTS. I can't think of another explanation. I'll leave it to you to guess at the various artifacts, including what looks like a small prayer wheel. The woman holds a distinctly western guitar and over her shoulder is the barrel of a rifle. The man wears his turban and holds a notebook. Were they missionaries? Anthropologists? The image is by Larson of Minneapolis and is in good condition except for a few small brown spots. $375
