Tintypes
T-456. LOVELY PROFILE. What long hair she had too! You can see the individual strands here. The tin has some light marks and crazing, nothing major. It was trimmed to have rounded corners as well. $30
T-457. BALTIMORE SIBLINGS. Taken on August 6, 1867, I'm assuming this pair was brother and sister. They were next to each other in a photo album when I bought it. Note that J. Holyland advertised copying all kinds of photos. Each tin has the same label and handwritten date and is in near perfect condition. There is nearly invisible crazing. The girl's hat has some green tinting and each has red cheeks. $45
T-460. FRIENDS. The tin has some light marks and fingerprints visible at an angle. $10
T-458. GREAT BACKDROP! There looks to be some kind of almost Middle Eastern city back there along with the rocks and trees. Our gentleman has light tinting on his face, buttons, and watch chain. There are marks on the surface, visible at an angle. $25
T-459. BY THE TREE. This girl appears to glow in the darkness. I like the dappled bits of sunlight too. The tin has some marks and a brown splotch on her dress. Nothing major. $25

Cartes de Visites & Cabinet Cards
CDV-575. SADIE. I can't quite make out her last name. The photos were taken on November 13, 1879 and she was 4 1/2 years old. Each image is in nice condition with one having a little corner paper missing just below the H in Harry. $35
CDV-570. MORNING GLORIES. This nicely tinted art card was given as a Christmas gift "from Willie to Allie Benzinger Dec. 25, 1866." It is in nice condition. $30
CDV-574. WEDDING PARTY 1. As with the next two photos (each of a different woman), I'm not sure if this woman was the bride or not. This one is in the nicest condition, but lacks the little sculpture in the other two. $40
CDV-573. WEDDING PARTY 2. In this one the woman holds a fan instead of a bouquet. The image is cropped at the bottom. $30
CDV-572. WEDDING PARTY 3. This image really emphasizes her bustle. The image is cropped at the bottom and there are some brown spots on her dress. $25
CDV-571. SILHOUETTES. This pair of images pictures Philip Thomas and Sarah Mayaul Thomas. Their silhouettes were cut out and backed with fabric, giving these CDVs a texture, almost. The images have some light marks and the upper right corners on each have a little damage. Nothing major. $55
CC-601. LITTLE VIOLINIST. It took me a little longer to note the triangle hanging from his arm, and the stick to bang it with on the cloth covered table. This little tyke was the youngest member of the Shepard Family musicians. There is light fade and spotting around the periphery. No photographer is marked. $135
CW-596. SAN FRANCISCO COUPLE. This pair went to the studio of Hutchinson and Babcock. The woman has quite the lace collar on! The image has light marks. $10
CW-594. COLORADO MAN. I'm not sure where Canon City is. He wore a hat with a large brim to the studio and must have refused to take it off. The image has a few marks and a corner bend at the lower left. $30
CC-602. BLACK FOREST COSTUMES. According to the backs, both are Black Forest costumes, but I'm not sure. The man holds a large pipe and an umbrella and each has very bright tinting. The images have light marks. The one of the man identifies R. Rimprecht as the photographer. $90

Other Photos

DAD-115. CAMERA CLUB. Here we have the "Rio Frio Bridge in Columbia [sic]" according to the back. We're assuming that that means Colombia the country. The image measures 9.75 x 7.25 and has a few light creases. It is unmounted. Two women in the group of people hold cameras but the real star of the image is the train. Did they wait all day for its arrival? $85
OP-573. IN THE GARDEN. This 4 x 6 photo is loosely mounted in a folder. I love the art deco design. The image has a few light marks. $35
RPPC-524. LOVELY LIGHTING. What a great pose! The image has light marks and one darker spot at the left center. $28
OP-570. SIN KILLS. But Jesus Saves. This 6.5 x 5.5 photo has just a few light marks. I don't know where the church was. $30
CW-595. A BIG HORSE. Thomas looks like a cute little kid. This snap is mounted on a piece of album page. The glue left a few wrinkles. $8
CW-598. ON A PLANE. It took me a sec to notice the "ground" underneath their feet, you know, what the one woman rests her feet on... Not a very adequate illusion. The image has light marks and all but the woman on the left moved. $15
SNAP-325. HMM... Even with a loupe, I'm not sure what these are, license plates? Radio station signs? There are many different locations there: Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sparta, WA, Hollywood, On Top of Lookout Mountain. Interesting display. The 2.5 x 3.5 snap is in good condition. $25
RPPC-523. UNCERTAIN. He was thinking, "do they really want me to play that?" The postcard is in nice condition. $35
SNAP-327. ALONE AND WITH FRIENDS. These 4 x 5 cyanotypes are in good condition. Each is dated 1904 and the one of the group has "Austin Mfg. Co.'s Office" written on the back. $20
OP-571. BEN. I like the profile. Ben's photobooth image has a few marks. $10
RPPC-522. BOYS WITH COWS. This is a nice farm image. Everyone stayed still. I like the icicles. $40
OP-567. BACHRACH BOY. This nearly 5 x 8 image comes in a paper folder that is a bit dirty. The image is in much better shape, although there are some marks. $22
DAD-114. READY FOR DISPLAY. Here we have a superbly taken little gal seated on a draped table next to a Victorian sideboard. The addition of a curtain created a room setting effect. She is holding a small figurine of a dog. The richness of the albumen print is magnificent and the original oval frame that measures 11 x 13 holding her 5 x 7 inch countenance is also in nearly perfect condition. $135
SNAP-326. SMILING COWBOY. I do like these snapshots with the borders. This one has a bear, which could mean Bear Photo, but I'm not quite sure. The image is not in focus and has a few marks. $12
OP-568. SIMPLY SUPERB! This is one of the best sticking their heads through newspaper images I've seen. The addition of the dog is great. I also like the fact that both the man and the woman had reached around and held the front of the paper. Moore retouched their fingers out of the final product. The dog's name was 'Bell', as we can see on her collar. Written in the negative below the trio is, "Three little maids from school are we," which is a line from Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado, which dates this image to 1885 or after. The boudoir sized cabinet card is in fine condition with very light marks and some teeny fade spots. $350
